Dr. Andrew Smith
Chiropractor
Our Director, Dr Andrew Smith was born and raised in the south east suburbs of Perth, and loves to call this city home. Feeling called to a life of service, many of his adventures and opportunities have been the answer to the question, 'How can I improve the life of another?' and becoming a chiropractor with a focus on family wellness, babies and kids, was the easy solution.
He is an avid traveller; 2 chiropractic mission trips to India as part of the Hands on India program; 2 summers spent in the states with Camp America, and pre-COVID, a trip throughout Italy, Austria and Germany with his family.
He and his wife Genevieve moved back to Perth after spending a few years living and working in Kalgoorlie, and their firstborn daughter Eleanor came into the world in February 2021, with Matilda joining the family July 2023.
His highest values are his faith, his family and health, and life mission is to help facilitate the ascension to the best self of each person he is fortunate enough to encounter.
Dr. Jake Van Leeuwen
Chiropractor
An early passion for yoga sparked Jake’s lifelong curiosity about the human body and its potential for healing. That journey led him to Chiropractic — where he found his calling in helping people create real, lasting change in their nervous systems and their lives.
After spending the past few years working across Perth and regional South Australia, Jake is excited to return home, plant roots, and connect with our wonderful community here in Hammond Park.
Outside the office, you’ll find him out for a run, lost in a good book, or enjoying time with his partner as they prepare to welcome their first baby later this year.
Maddy
Practice Coordinator
Our Practice Coordinator Maddy is the heart and soul of the office.
She is driven by all things of a holistic nature, and is always on a journey of self-discovery and healing.
Maddy believes in seeing all others as reflections of herself, allowing her to meet people as they are with empathy and understanding.
She's recently completed her Bachelor in Psychology and Counselling, so the coming months will be planning her next steps professionally. She loves a chai, talking with trees, ocean swims and snuggles with her dog Bloom. She brings so much joy to the office, and has a mission to improve the lives of all those she meets.
Amelie
Chiropractic Assistant
Amelie hails from a small country town in Victoria and moved to Hammond Park a few years ago with her family.
She is the brains behind some of our social media posts, and has a flair for all things creative- especially playing bass!
She is currently studying to become a veterinarian and her love for animals means in her spare time you'll find her outside in nature with her 2 dogs, enjoying long walks, as well as time with her family.
Dani
Chiropractic Assistant
Dani grew up locally around the market gardens and bushland here in Cockburn. A hairdresser by trade, she's recently reached a time in her life where she was open to a new work challenge!
She is always down for a chat, and her bubbly personality and mum vibes means she loves cuddling a baby whilst parents can get adjusted.
When she isn't in the office you'll find her enjoying the outdoors, with a love of camping and being in nature with her family to unwind and reset.
Justine
Chiropractic Assistant
Justine is our ocean lover and comes to us all the way from Coral Bay, who is currently enjoying maternity leave with her bubba!
A southern suburbs Perth local, she has recently returned back to the old stomping ground after a year up in northern WA.
Excited to be back around the family, when she isn't brightening everyone's day at Ascension, outside the office you can find her on a beach- her self professed happy place, hanging out with her German Shepherd Tilli "The Blowfish Eater", trialling the latest vegan restaurant, or diving deep into her study- well underway completing her Naturopathy degree.
Genevieve Smith
Admin Extraordinaire and Social Media Manager
Genevieve is born and raised in the south east suburbs of Perth as part of a large family, and values the joy that family and community life brings. She is a brilliant high school teacher, equally matched by her prowess on almost any musical instrument. After teaching science, music, and religion in Kalgoorlie, she stepped into her her role as mother and business owner at the same time, with Eleanor arriving in 2021, Matilda in 2023 and Lucy in 2025.
One of her favourite quotes, by Australia's first saint, Saint Mary of the Cross McKillop, is "Never see a need without doing something about it", and this has fuelled her desire to always go above and beyond to help all those she meets.
Genevieve is in the office periodically helping run the front desk, and works hard behind the scenes on the admin and social media side of the business, whilst juggling 3 children, and supporting her husband Dr Andrew keep the business moving.
